WEEKLY & MONTHLY CHANTED PRAYERS

The centre holds regular sessions of chanted meditation prayers, or pujas, which combine meditation, visualization, and mantra recitation. These chanted prayers give us a chance to connect with the holy beings and enjoy the tranquil meditation space.

Heart Jewel Prayers & Guided Meditation

On Friday evenings, we engage in Heart Jewel prayers with a short guided meditation on the stages of the path, or Lamrim.  These powerful prayers are designed to empower our wisdom and help us find spiritual protection. This chanted meditation, which is the the foundation of Kadampa Buddhist practice, opens our heart and allows us to discover the magic of tuning in to the wisdom and inspiration of enlightened beings. Receiving their inspiring blessings is the key to our spiritual development, and our mind becomes like a rich and well nourished field from which a harvest of pure happiness, confidence and inner strength can arise.  Please check our calendar for this week’s schedule

Offering to the Spiritual Guide with Offerings

Twice per month we engage in Offering to the Spiritual Guide, also known as Lama Chopa in Tibetan.  This practice enables us to accumulate vast amounts of positive karma, or merit, by making extensive offerings to our Spiritual Guide.  The practice is approximately 90 minutes long and includes food offerings.

It is customary to bring a small food offering to this practice.

Melodious Drum with Offerings

Melodious Drum is also called “long protector prayers,” because it is a very extensive prayer to our Dharma Protector, the Wisdom Buddha Dorje Shugden.  We make these prayers to purify any negative karma we have created over the past thirty days and deepen our connection to the Dharma Protector.  The practice is 3.5 hours long and includes food offerings.

It is customary to bring a small food offering to this practice.
