The empowerment is a blissful guided meditation in which we will receive the special blessings of Buddha Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification, upon our body, speech and mind. Through this we make a special connection with this enlightened being, enabling us to purify our body, speech and mind simply through receiving his blessings.
During the teachings on this simple but effective practice, Gen Jampel will illuminate the purification practice of Buddha Vajrasattva following the sadhana Meditation and Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva. This skilful and creative practice allows us to connect with the natural potential of our mind, to heal our past, and purify old, painful habits of thinking and behaving. Through purifying our mind gradually we experience a purer world.
As the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Durban, Gen Jampel takes joy in helping us discover the innate potential for freedom and peace we carry in our hearts – even in difficult times. An ordained Buddhist monk, he has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for over 14 years and elucidates the life-changing wisdom of meditation through the lens of everyday life. Loved for his uplifting example and playful humour, he is a relatable teacher and reliable friend to the community.
