In Buddhism we learn the power of chanted prayers especially those done in a group. These prayers take our mind on a journey of meaning, which if done sincerely can be profoundly transformative. There is one prayer which is very special within our Tradition called The Liberating Prayer. It makes up a part of almost every class, retreat and course run at Kadampa Centres worldwide.
Very soon we all fall in love with the pacifying effect of The Liberating Prayer.
Venerable Geshe-la, who composed the prayer, explained that it is not an ordinary prayer and contains a great depth of meaning which is not initially evident. He further explained that we need a teacher to reveal these deeper meanings to us in order to fully appreciate this prayer.
Before he passed away Venerable Geshe-la gave an oral transmission of these meanings to Gen-la Dekyong and at this year’s International Kadampa Spring Festival Gen-la Dekyong will be sharing this with us. Kelsang Chosang, will receive these special teachings directly and share them with us in these classes.
About the Teacher
An ordained Buddhist nun for many years, Chosang has been enjoying practicing Kadampa Buddhism for many years and is able to share her experience in a clear and accessible way.
Everybody’s Welcome!
