The South African National Festival this year is a rare and special opportunity to receive the blessing empowerment of the Wisdom Buddha, Je Tsongkhapa and commentary to ‘Request to the Lord of All Lineages‘ prayer which Gen-la Kunsang received direct transmission of from Venerable Geshe-la.
The empowerment is a blissful guided meditation in which we will receive the special blessings of the Wisdom Buddha, Je Tsongkhapa upon our body, speech and mind. Through this we make a special connection with this enlightened being, enabling our compassion, wisdom and spiritual power to grow through our relying upon him. Je Tsongkhapa is the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition of Buddhism with its many unsurpassed qualities. It has been said by renowned Buddhist masters that the power of Je Tsongkhapa’s blessings and his way of helping living beings is superior to other Buddhas.
Gen-la Kunsang will also explain the hidden meanings of the ‘Request to the Lord of All Lineages‘ which is a very blessed and powerful prayer composed by our Spiritual Guide, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. If used skilfully this prayer functions to bring about the realisations of all the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra in our mind.
“We should mentally recite this prayer many times every day,
even when relaxing or lying down, while concentrating on the meaning of each individual verse.
Our understanding of the meaning of each verse should touch our heart,
and through this our mind will transform into wisdom,
cherishing love, compassion and so forth.
There is no greater meaning than engaging in this practice.
Please keep this advice in your heart.”
Therefore, how fortunate we are to have the opportunity to receive commentary to this prayer!
