A word so commonly used, but do you really know what it’s referring to? Is it just about the bad things that happen, or is there more to karma than that?
“Generally, karma means ‘action’. From non-virtuous actions comes suffering and from virtuous actions comes happiness: if we believe this, we believe in karma.”
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
Buddha gave extensive teachings that prove the truth of this statement and many different examples that show the special connection between our previous actions and our experiences of this life.
In this half day course Buddhist monk, Gen Jampel will illuminate the meaning of karma and give detailed explanation of how it all works. Through this, you’ll learn how to free yourself from the effects of your previous unskillful and negative actions before they happen and learn that you are the architect, the engineer of your own future happiness.
Everybody’s welcome!
As the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Durban, Gen Jampel takes joy in helping us discover the innate potential for freedom and peace we carry in our hearts – even in difficult times. Loved for his uplifting example and playful humour, he is a relatable teacher and reliable friend to the community.
