Compassion in Action Retreat
In our world where suffering is everywhere – we need a powerful solution. That solution lies in the fearless heart of compassion.
We all have the potential for universal compassion, a mind that solves our own and others’ problems, but to develop this state of mind we need to gather special inner conditions. We can gather these conditions through the practices of the Buddha of compassion, Buddha Avalokiteshvara. Through this we will connect with our own Buddha nature and receive the powerful blessings of Avalokiteshvara so that we can train joyfully in compassion.
In this retreat Buddhist monk Gen Jampel will guide us in the meditations and recitation of mantra that cause our compassion to grow. The stronger our compassion becomes the closer to enlightenment we become until we become a Buddha of compassion ourself. Then we will have the actual power to help others to gain real freedom from their suffering permanently.
In the retreat sessions we will be using the Prayer booklet Avalokiteshvara Sadhana, which is available to purchase from the KMC Durban Gift and Book Shop.
Everybody’s welcome!
